With Halloween on a Saturday, downtown Everett is the place for grown-ups to celebrate. The 8th annual Creeptacular adult costume party fills the Historic Monte Ballroom (1507 Wall St) Saturday, Oct 31 at 8 p.m., with a DJ, live performers, cocktails and a $1,000 audience-voted costume contest. Over at APEX Everett's Kings Hall (1611 Everett Ave), a free-with-RSVP 90s R&B and hip-hop Halloween Dance Party kicks off at 8 p.m. with its own costume contest. Get a head start Friday, Oct 30 at 9 p.m., when APEX hosts a reggaeton and 2000s Halloween night that runs until 1 a.m. For live music in a building with its own resident ghost, the New Everett Theater (2911 Colby Ave) hosts a Halloween dance party with the Guy Johnson Band Saturday from 8 to 10:30 p.m., with early bird tickets at $12. For a more laid-back costume night, grab a pint with the locals at the Fireplace Pub or the Soundview Tavern at the top of Hewitt Ave. Keith Bruce at Sound Point Real Estate knows what makes Everett worth calling home. soundpointre.com
