The 30-year fixed averaged 7.18% this week, per Freddie Mac. That sounds high until you look back: since 1971 the long-run average sits near 7.7%, and rates topped 18% in 1981. Today’s rate is actually right around normal. Meanwhile buyers finally have choices. Snohomish County has about 2,850 active listings and 3.7 months of supply, and single-family inventory is up roughly 45% from last year. More homes means more room to negotiate on price, repairs and closing costs. Buy the right home now, and refinance later if rates drop. Ready to look in Everett?
